This was recorded on a rainy morning in late spring beside Bigelow Meadow in the Bigelow Meadow Botanical Area, Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Siskiyou County, California. The recording starts as the dawn chorus was well under way and just as the rain began to fall. This recording was made tree ears style, with a microphone placed on either side of the trunk of a small Incense Cedar tree growing beneath a large Ponderosa Pine amongst a cluster of Quaking Aspen.  There is some air traffic on this recording.
